The Site Survey. We provide a software system that can plot your link i.e. provide you the ground topology between your location and the tower. Browse to Plotter.vlocity.co.za, enter your address as clearly as possible and click search. The system will attempt to locate your address or as close as possible. Zoom closer to the image and move the icon directly overhead your property or the zone expected for the installatin. Please note that this tool can only give you a reference to the height of the ground. It cannot take into consideration any trees or buildings surrounding the location. In an ideal world we would need to "Inspect:" each site. The plotter merly provides an approximate plot of the terrain between the client and our towers. We rely on our dealers and the client to provide at least a part of the inspection, i.e. whats the surrounding buildings and trees. Often where there is urgency for an installation, we wont have a chance to do an inspection. In this case the installation team will go to the site with a full expectation to do the installation. However, if they are not successfull, they will stop any installations and begin to seek out a nearby relay point. This is often unavoidable. In this case the installers may be schedued for another installation, and will spend the time allocated here to seek out a relay point, returning on another date to complete the installation. Assuming the floor of a building is approximatly 3 meters, you can enter the height above ground onto the plotter to get a clearer view. Assuming a 2 story building is then 6 Meters, and the pole we can add another 2-3 meters giving an overall height AGL of 8 Meters. Wireless requires an absolute clear Line of Site to the tower - without exception. If the location is lower than the surrounding buildings, a relay location may be required. If there are trees higher than the installation point - a similar relay or higher pole will be required. Because of the nature of the installation, the fact that it has to have clear Line of Site, the fact that it has to be attached very securely to the outside of the building, means there can be delays. Planning is made difficult. This can often discrupt third parties who have equipment or software to be installed AFTER the wireless. We cannot help this. Our assumption is that we will be able to install based on the plotter. At least 80-90% of installations done relative to our plotter information and information provided by the client - are first time installs. But there is a percentage that fails, causing delays. The more information we recieve the better. If a guarantee must be made then there will be a delay. A scheduled appointment must be made by one of our reps or managers. Installation teams cannot quote a client or estimate the quality of the link or decide on the location. Once a date has been set - third parties must expect delays and only plan their installation a day or two after the install has commenced, or face possible delays. |
