Self Installs: Customers or resellers wishing to install equipment themselves onto the Vlocity Backbone.

Vlocity does not support a Self installation unless the following conditions have been adhered too.

• Installers have a qualified SITA approved certificate for High Access Work.
• Installers have attended and passed a Training course at Vlocity.
• The company wishing to do the installations has signed a binding Reseller agreement and a Non-Disclosure agreement with Vlocity.
• The company wishing to do the installations is not already endebted to Vlocity. i.e. only companies with a fully settled account will be approved for self installations.
• The Installer has signed a non-disclosure agreement with Vlocity.
• The equipment used is ICASA Approved
• The equipment used is the approved equipment specified by Vlocity.
• The installer received a signed waiver from the client agreeing to the installation by a non-Vlocity employee. The waiver must specifically exclude Vlocity from any responsibility  or damage that may occur during or after the installation.
• The client MUST be made aware that the installation is the responsibility of the installer and/or the installers company and not Vlocity. Any further assistance required by Vlocity by the client will be chargable.
• The signal from the client to the Vlocity tower is not guaranteed as the quality of the signal is the responsability of the installer not Vlocity.
• On completion of the installation - a Vlocity Job card must be completed, with the installers contact details, the signal achieved, the date and time, and the name of the support technician that approved the link. A photograph of the installation must be submitted to Vlocity for storage on the Vlocity access system.

An installation cost is not simply the cost of the materials, labour and equipment. Installations include the costs for the network management, routing and setup. Vlocity provides a team of professionals who manage and configure each installation, loading the link into the maintenance and monitoring system. IN addition the entire cost of towers and infrastructure forms part of the cost to install. A minimum fee for self installs of 40% of the retail price will be due prior to a self-installation. i.e. should a dealer prefer to do their own installations, a fee will be due to Vlocity of 40% of the published hardware retail price before any such installation commences. Failing which the installation will not be connected to the Vlocity Backbone under any condition.
